Marist College is proud of the academic achievements of our students at all levels. The latest Education Review Office report states:

  • Students are afforded many opportunities for personal growth and academic success. They achieve highly in external examinations and competitions. They participate enthusiastically in an extensive range of sporting, cultural and service activities and demonstrate worthwhile leadership skills. In particular they value the Marist special character and are proud of the school and its traditions.
  • Students attain high levels of academic achievement.
  • Teachers provide students with high quality learning experiences. They have high expectations of students, know them well and provide holistic support.
  • There is a purposeful working environment evident throughout the school. Students are focussed and remain on task. They take evident pride in their achievement.

NCEA Results

We congratulate our senior students who achieved most pleasing results in the 2012 NCEA examinations.

90.2% of our Year 11 students attained a Level 1 certificate with 68.2% receiving an Excellence or Merit endorsement.
92.5% of our Year 12 students attained a Level 2 certificate with 64.6% receiving an Excellence or Merit endorsement.8
82% of our Year 13 students attained a Level 3 certificate with 57.6% receiving an Excellence or Merit endorsement.

Scholarships were acheived across a range of 4 subjects: Classical Studies, English, Biology and Art Design. A total of 12 scholarships (including one 'Outstanding') were attained by our 2012 Year 13 cohort of 89 students.
